Moving Mega888 to a new phone is safer when you treat it as a migration, not a fresh start. The most common mistake is wiping or selling the old device before confirming that the account, app and recovery details all work on the new one.

This guide covers Android-to-Android, iPhone-to-iPhone and switching between Android and iPhone. Keep the Mega888 homepage available so you can use the correct current installation route for the new device.

1. Before You Touch the Old Phone

• Confirm the Mega888 username / user ID.
• Confirm the password or known recovery process.
• Record the installed app version.
• Save the verified support/contact route.
• Make a normal phone backup.
• Keep access to the associated phone number/email if used for recovery.
• Do not factory-reset the old phone yet.

If you cannot answer these basics, solve them before migration. A working old phone is much easier to troubleshoot than an erased one.

2. Back Up the Phone, but Understand the Limits

Google can back up many Android apps, settings, messages and device data, while Apple can transfer apps and data through Quick Start or iCloud. However, neither platform promises that every manually distributed third-party app will restore exactly as before.

3. Android to Android

Google’s current Android guidance recommends copying apps and data during new-device setup, using a cable when available or Wi-Fi otherwise. Both phones should have internet access.

1. Back up the old Android phone.
2. Turn on the new phone and connect it to Wi-Fi/mobile data.
3. Use Android’s Copy apps & data process.
4. Finish setup and let normal Play Store apps restore.
5. Check whether Mega888 transferred. A sideloaded APK may not.
6. If it did not, use the current Android route from Mega888 rather than copying an old APK blindly.
7. Open the app and test login before erasing the old device.

Why a sideloaded APK may not transfer

Google explicitly notes that some data and apps may not copy, including apps/data that do not participate in Android backup. A manually installed APK therefore may need a fresh installation on the new phone.

4. New Samsung Phone and Auto Blocker

A Galaxy phone with newer One UI software may have Auto Blocker enabled and refuse an APK that installed normally on your older Samsung. That does not automatically mean the file is broken. First verify the package, then review Settings > Security and privacy > Auto Blocker.

5. iPhone to iPhone

Apple Quick Start can set up a new iPhone from the old one. Apple recommends keeping both devices nearby, connected to Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and plugged into power until migration finishes.

1. Make sure the old iPhone is backed up.
2. Place the new iPhone near the old one and start Quick Start.
3. Choose direct transfer or iCloud restore.
4. Keep both devices together until migration is complete.
5. Check whether Mega888 is present and opens.
6. If a manually distributed app requires trust/verification again, verify the developer/source before approving it.
7. Test login fully before wiping the old iPhone.

6. Android to iPhone: Do Not Try to Transfer the APK

An APK cannot run on iPhone. Moving from Android to iOS means installing the current iPhone-compatible method separately, then signing in with the same account if supported by your account/provider.

Likewise, moving from iPhone to Android means getting the Android APK through the current route rather than trying to copy an iOS app package.

7. Keep the Same Account—Do Not Create a New One by Accident

During device setup, it is easy to confuse “install app” with “register account”. If you already have a Mega888 account, use the existing credentials. Creating another account can complicate support and make it harder to know which balance/history belongs where.

8. First Login on the New Phone

1. Use a stable connection.
2. Open the app and confirm the normal login screen appears.
3. Enter the existing username/password manually.
4. If the credentials fail, do not immediately reset them if they still work on the old phone.
5. Compare app version and device time/date.
6. If the account is explicitly locked, use the account-lock guide instead of repeatedly trying.
